2019 - Round 1 : MoSHPlay Update
/It’s clear already that MoSHPlay is going to add some welcome variability to the MoS forecasters this year.
In tipping Brisbane to topple the reigning Premiers it’s joined only by the resident, long-term contrarian in Home Sweet Home, and in tipping Essendon to defeat GWS it stands alone. (Note that the earlier forecasts by the MoS twins that also had Essendon winning, were in error. The MoS twins refer to the Giants as GW Sydney and so completely failed to recognise a team I’d labelled as GWS.)
MoSHPlay’s margin predictions are, on average and in absolute terms, about 7 points different from MoSHBODS’, and its probability estimates are about 8% points different. Though not shown here, its forecasts for the total scores in each game are just over 3 points per game higher than MoSHBODS’.
It’s going to be fun to see how MoSHPlay fares this week and this season.
UPDATE: 4PM SATURDAY
Mostly small moves but GWS is now narrowly tipped to win over Essendon.
