2024 - Round 3 Results - A Mere Flesh Wound
/Four early-week favourites won this week, and four lost, which resulted in every Head-to-Head Tipster registering four from eight, leaving Bookie Knows Best on top of the Leaderboard, still just one ahead of six other Tipsters.
The all-Tipster average for the round was 4 from 8, which took the season-long figure to 18.8 from 29 (65%).
Margin prediction was again quite strong this week, with mean absolute errors (MAEs) ranging from Bookie_3’s 21.8 points per game to MoSHPlay_Marg’s 28.4, with the all-Predictor average coming in at 23.8 points per game, just a tick below last week’s average.
That result kept Bookie_3 in top spot, ahead now of ENS_Linear, Bookie_LPSO, and Bookie_Hcap. MoSSBODS_Marg still fills the bottom spot, now about 12-and-a-half goals off the lead.
Log probability scores were all approximately zero this week, which left Bookie_LPSO in 1st place, ahead of Bookie_RE and then Bookie_OE. Best of the MoS trio is MoSHPlay_Prob in 4th.
WAGERING
It was a round that started off poorly, persisted, then held out some promise, only to finish as a small loss.
The Overs/Unders and head-to-Head Funds both made small profits, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Line Fund’s near 5c loss, which altogether meant that the Combined Portfolio finished down by 2c. It is now down by almost 3c, that from a -5% ROT on a 0.62 turn.
