2017 - Round 20 Results - Eight Favourites
/All but one of the mid-week favourites won this weekend, which made for high scores amongst the Head-to-Head Tipsters, the all-Tipster average finishing at 7.1 from 9.
Best were the 8s of MoSSBODS_Marg, MoSHBODS_Marg, and BKB. The two RSMP Tipsters managed only 7s, which allowed MoSSBODS_Marg to extend its lead to 3 tips at the head of the Leaderboard, and allowed MoSHBODS_Marg to draw level with them in equal-2nd.
The Margin Predictors, collectively, turned in an all-Predictor average mean absolute error (MAE) of 29.2 points per game this week, which lowered their all-season average to just a tick over 29 points per game.
Best for the round was the 27.5 MAE of Bookie_9, ahead of 28.1s for both Bookie_LPSO and Bookie_Hcap. Worst was C_Marg's MAE of 32.4 points per game.
MoSHBODS_Marg's MAE came in at 29.1 points per game, but this was good enough to leave it in top spot on the Leaderboard where it is now about 2 goals ahead of the RSMP twins. MoSSBODS_Marg's 31 MAE saw it slip back into 4th place.
The only other moves on the Leaderboard were the swapping of 7th and 8th between Bookie_Hcap and ENS_Linear.
On Head-to-Head Probability Prediction, the round's best result belonged to Bookie_LPSO, although the log probability scores of all the Predictors were fairly similar this week. MoSHBODS_Prob heads the Leaderboard, followed by Bookie_OE and then MoSSBODS_Prob.
WAGERS
Investors had the better of the luck this weekend, with a late rally by the Saints securing the significant head-to-head and line bets on them, and a late goal to Port Adelaide securing the overs bet in that game.
In the end, all three Funds recorded a profit for the round the net result of which was to lift the Overall Portfolio price by 3.7c, the largest single round increase since Round 7.
As it now stands, the Overall Portfolio is up by just over 33% on the season, this the result of an 18.7% ROI on a 1.8 turn.
