MatterOfStats 2015 : Team Dashboard for Round 17
/Time again this week I think to look at the metrics on which each team is most anomalous relative to its ladder position, summarised here in the form of a table. The entries in the table are team rankings on the relevant metric and are shown only where that ranking differs by 4 places or more from the team's ladder position. Entries are in green if the ranking on the metric is 4 places or more higher than the ladder position, and they're in red if the ranking on the metric is 4 places or more lower than the ladder position.
Three teams, in particular, stand out in this table: Collingwood, for the number of metrics on which it is ranked significantly above its ladder position; and Fremantle and Sydney, for the number of metrics on which they are ranked significantly below their ladder position.
It's interesting to note that, based on MoS' Win Production Function, Collingwood are assessed as having won about 2 games fewer than they should, Fremantle over 2.5 games more than they should, and Sydney a little over one game more than they should.
