2024 - Round 10 Results - We Applaud the Trend

Only five early-week favourites bagged the four points this week, but some contrarian tipping allowed scores as high as seven for Home Sweet Home, and sixes for the RSMP twins, Consult the Ladder, and MoSSBODS_Marg. The Leaderboard is still headed by Bookie Knows Best, who now maintains a one tip lead over ENS_Linear and all three of the MoS family.

The all-Tipster average for the round came in at 5.7 from 9, which took the season-long figure to 57.8 from 90 (64%).

Margin prediction was much weaker this week, with mean absolute errors (MAEs) ranging from MoSHBODS_Marg’s 38.9 points per game to Bookie_3’s 43.0 points per game, with the all-Predictor average coming in at 40.4 points per game, which is up by almost 14 points per game on last week.

Bookie_3’s performance saw it surrender top spot to Bookie_LPSO by about 2 goals, with RSMP_Simple just a couple of points further back.

MoSHPlay_Marg remains best of the MoS trio and is now just over 11 goals off the lead.

Log probability scores were all slightly positive again this week except and also best for MoSSBODS_Prob again. Nonetheless, Bookie_LPSO retained 1st place ahead of Bookie_RE, and MoSSBODS_Prob remains worst. MoSHPlay_Prob still lies in 4th and is the best of the MoS trio.

WAGERING

Round 10 proved Investors with another profit, despite the Hawks’ last-second defeat by Port Adelaide., and despite the Line Fund registering a small loss, which was predestined after the Pies’ lacklustre performance.

Overall, the Combined Portfolio finished up by 1.6c, which leaves it down now by just over 6c on the season, that from a -4% ROT on a 1.6 turn.
