/Both underdogs won this week, knocking 3rd and 4th out of the competition in straight sets, a fate that teams from these positions have only suffered five times in the last 24 seasons, as you can see in the table at right.
Those results meant that MoSHPlay_Marg’s lone contrarian tip was the only scorer for the round, and allowed it to move into joint 1st with MoSHBODS_Marg on 145 from 213 (68%).
The all-Tipster average for the round was 0.1 from 2, which took the all-season figure to 139.2 from 213 (65%).
MoSHPlay_Marg also excelled amongst the Margin Predictors with its mean absolute error (MAE) of 14.4 points per game over 5 points lower than any other Predictor and over 6 points lower than the all-Predictor average of 20.7 points per game. It now leads Bookie_LPSO by about 16 goals and looks very likely to finish in 1st place at the end of the season.
The only movement on the Leaderboard was ENS_Linear taking 4th place from MoSHBODS_Marg.
Log probability scores were all negative this week, but least of all and only barely for MoSHPlay_Prob. It therefore retained 1st place, while MoSSBODS_Prob and Bookie_OE held onto 2nd and 3rd places.. MoSHBODS_Prob remains in 5th.
WAGERING
There was just the sole unders bets this week, which was a collect, but which had little impact on the Combined Portfolio.
All together, the Combined Portfolio rose by 0.1c, and is now up by 20.6c on the season, that from a 19% ROT on a 1.09 turn.
