2022 - Round 18 Results - Another Good 'un

In something of a recurring theme, six opening-market favourites won yet again this week. The only Head-to-Head Tipsters doing better than this par score were the MoS trio, with MoSHBODS_Marg and MoSHPlay_Marg both bagging 7 from 9, and MoSSBODS_Marg bagging 8 from 9.

That left MoSHBODS_Marg one tip clear at the top of the Leaderboard, now on 113 from 153 (74%), ahead of MoSSBODS_Marg on 112 from 153 (73%), and Bookie Knows Best and the RSMP twins, now seven tips behind, on 106 from 153 (69%). MoSHPlay_Marg is a further tip back on 105 from 153 (69%), which means that player knowledge has resulted in 8 fewer correct tips.

The all-Tipster average came in at 6.1 from 9, keeping the all-Tipster all-season average at just over 68%.

The Margin Predictors produced a wide range of mean absolute errors (MAEs) this week, with MoSSBODS_Marg the lowest at 19.6 points per game, and Bookie_3 the highest at 26.0 points per game. MoSHPlay_Marg’s 22.4 points per game was good enough for it to retain top spot, but only just, it now heading MoSSBODS_Marg by only 3 points,

Further down the Leaderboard there were some movements, with both RSMP twins rising along with Bookie_9, and with Bookie_LPSO, Bookie_Hcap, and Bookie_3 all falling.

The all-Predictor average came in at 23.1 points per game, which dropped the all-season all-Predictor average to 25.9 points per game.

The Roos snagged the upset win this weekend, and generated significantly large negative scores for the Head-to-Head Probability Predictors. Only MoSSBODS_Prob and MoSHBODS_Prob were able to overcome that deficit to turn in narrowly positive scores, with the four remaining Predictors all ending the weekend with mildly negative scores.

Those results saw MoSHPlay_Prob drop from first to third, MoSSBODS_Prob assume first, and MoSHBODS_Prob assume second.

WAGERING

It was another ludicrously profitable round for Investors - the second-most profitable round of the season, and the single most-profitable for the Line Fund and its 5 from 5 performance.

The overall round profit for the Combined Portfolio was 7.9c, which moved it to a season-long profit of 43.4c, that from a +45% ROT on a 0.96 turn.
