2021 - Round 18 Results - Yikes
/Another largely unpleasant set of results for most MoS models, but, to be honest, right now it’s hard to sustain feeling hard done by as these latest COVID variants audition on the world’s Virus Got Talent stages.
This week it turns out that sticking with the favourites would’ve been a wise strategy, but the fact that many Head-to-Head Tipsters did not do that has meant that the all-Tipster average has come in at just 5.2 from 9, despite the fact that 8 of 9 favourites won.
That result catapulted Bookie Knows Best into equal 2nd and now just one tip behind MoSSBODS_Marg on 101 from 153 (66%), and equal with MoSHPlay_Marg on 100 from 153.
The relatively high levels of contrarianism in a week that turned out to be quite predictable has meant that the all-Tipster average has come in at just 5.2 from 9.
Amongst the Margin Predictors, the RSMP twins did best this week, and the MoS trio worst on mean absolute error (MAE). Altogether, there was a lot of movement on the Leaderboard, as shown below, at the end of which only ENS_Linear and Bookie_3 have retained the same position post round that they held pre round.
The all-Predictor MAE was 28.5 points per game, down by about 7.6 points per game on the previous week’s average.
Log probability scores were positive for all the bookmaker-based Head-to-Head Probability Predictors this week, and negative for the MoS trio, which has seen Bookie_OE snatch 3rd place on the Leaderboard, nudging out MoSSBODS_Prob.
WAGERS
