Below is the latest Ranking on Dashboard Metrics data, which shows that, on average, the teams doing best have:

  • Won more quarters

  • Been expected to do well based on the MoS Win Production Function

  • Registered more Scoring Shots

  • Registered more points and goals

  • Conceded fewer goals and points

  • Performed better in Q2s

The full Team Dashboard appears below, a few of the interesting things from which are that:

  • Port Adelaide have recorded 55.9% of their Scoring Shots as goals, Fremantle only 45.3%

  • Hawthorn’s opponents have registered 55.3% of their Scoring Shots as goals, Geelong’s only 44.8%

  • Adelaide, Carlton, Gold Coast, Hawthorn, and North Melbourne are the only teams to have been outscored by their opponents in each of the four quarters considered separately

  • Brisbane Lions, Melbourne, Port Adelaide, and the Western Bulldogs are the only teams to have outscored their opponents in each of the four quarters considered separately

  • Western Bulldogs have outscored their opponents by 1.8:1 in Q4s, 1.4:1 in Q1s and Q2s, but only 1.02:1 in Q3s. Their performance is in the Top 2 for Q1, Q2, and Q4, but is only 10th for Q3

  • Essendon have scored more goals than all but two of the teams above them on the ladder, but conceded more goals than six of the seven teams immediately below them on the ladder
