It seems pretty obvious to most, I think, that we've had a very even competition so far, and this fact it borne out by a number of the statistics in the Dashboard:
- The first 11 teams on the ladder have percentages better than 100
- The team in 13th (Gold Coast) has the same win-loss record as the team in 8th (North Melbourne)
- The team in 12th (Melbourne) has kicked only two fewer goals than the team in 3rd (GWS), three fewer than the team in 6th (Port Adelaide), four fewer than the team in 7th (Sydney), and two more than the team in 8th (North Melbourne)
- The team in 16th (St Kilda) has conceded only six goals more than the team in 6th (Port Adelaide), and five goals more than the team in 7th (Sydney)
- Twelve of the 18 teams have won at least as many quarters as they've lost
- Even the team in last place (Carlton) has won 7 of its 24 quarters across the season
- Melbourne, who are in 12th place, have won 13.5 of their 24 quarters
