2023 - Round 13 Results - Resurgent MoSHPlay
/Four of the eight bookmakers’ early market favourites won this week, but some contrarian tips by MoSHBODS_Marg and MoSSBODS_Marg resulted in their scoring only two and surrendering their lead over RSMP_Simple. All three of them are now tied on 74.5 from 114 (65%) and are just one tip ahead of Bookie Knows Best, ENS_Linear, MoSHPlay_Marg, and RSMP_Weighted.
The all-Tipster average for the round was just 3.6 from 8, which took the all-season figure to 71.6 from 114 (63%).
The Margin Predictors’ mean absolute errors (MAEs) were all much higher and more spread out this week, and covered a range from MoSHPlay_Marg’s 25.6 points per game to MoSHBODS_Marg’s and MoSSBODS_Marg’s 32.1 points per game, with the all-Predictor average coming in at 29.7 points per game per Predictor.
The Leaderboard saw MoSHPlay_Marg leaping three places into 1st, and MoSHBODS_Marg sliiping two places into 4th. ENS_Linear also dropped, but only by a single spot and into 2nd, while Bookie_3 and Bookie_9 swapped 6th and 7th.
Log probability scores were all slightly negative this week with the exception of MoSHPlay_Prob, who moved from last to 2nd on the strength of a slightly positive result. MoSSBODS_Prob was next best but negative, and still holds 1st place, while MoSHBODS_Prob fell from 3rd place to last on the ladder after recording the worst score.
WAGERING
The Combined Portfolio bounced in and out of profitability this weekend, but ultimately finished 2.4c in the red, which is the second-worst single round result this season.
Only the highly insignificant Overs/Unders Fund made a profit, which was never going to be enough to cover a 1,4c Line Fund loss, and a 5.5c Head-to-Head Fund loss.
At the end of the round, the Combined Portfolio leaving was up by 11.4c on the season, that from a 19% ROT on an 0.6 turn.
