/The Ranking on Dashboard Metrics data appears below, and are probably most anomalous for Carlton who, despite sitting 4th on the competition ladder, are ranked no higher than 4th on any metric, and ranked 8th or lower on 9 of the metrics, including a number that are most correlated overall with teams’ ladder position. Teams’ ranking on Own Scoring Shot Conversion continues to be only slightly correlated with their ladder position.

Geelong have converted only 49% of their scoring shots into goals, but allowed their opponents to convert at around 59%
Conversely, Richmond has converted at 59% but allowed their opponents to convert at only 45%, and Brisbane Lions has converted at 63% but allowed their opponents to convert at only 49%
West Coast are still yet to win a Q2
GWS is still yet to win a Q4
Carlton have scored 59% of their points in the 1st half of games
GWS have scored 63% of their points in the 1st half of games (and only 18% in Q3s)
Port Adelaide have scored 60% of their points in Q2s and Q3s
Melbourne have more than doubled their opponents’ score in Q1s and Q3s, but only barely outscored them in Q2s and Q4s
Brisbane Lions, Fremantle, Geelong, and Melbourne are the only teams to have outscored their opponents in each of the four quarters taken separately
West Coast is the only team to have been outscored by their opponents in each of the four quarters taken separately
Fremantle, who are 2nd on the ladder, have scored fewer goals than every other team in the Top 8 except St Kilda, and fewer also than Collingwood in 9th
Collingwood, in 9th, have scored more goals than five of the teams in the Top 8
