AFLW 2022 Spring Edition - Round 4 - Results

A good round for WoSHBODS on Margin MAE (17.8 points per game) and Totals MAE (16.5 points per game), but just 3.5 from 9 on accuracy and a negative LPS, which takes it to the cumulative result shown below.

(NB This is a corrected version of the Performance table. The previous one used the wrong data in calculating Score MAEs. This version is consistent with the published week-to-week forecasts)

The Ranking on Team Metrics table appears below, and suggests that, so far, ladder position has been most about:

  • Scoring Shot Generation and Concession

  • Own and Opponent Scoring

  • Q2 and Q4 Performances

  • Winning Quarters

… and not much about:

  • Own or Opponent Scoring Shot Conversion

  • Q1 Performances

Lastly, here is the full Team Dashboard, which shows that:

  • Fremantle have scored only 11% of their points in Q4s

  • Geelong have scored 81% of their points in the 2nd half
