2023 - Round 12 Results - Margins Easy, Winners Harder
Only four of the seven bookmakers’ favourites won this week, which meant that the fives from MoSHBODS_Marg, MoSHBODS_Marg, ENS_Linear, and RSMP_Simple was enough to move them all a tip further ahead of Bookie Knows Best. The MoS twins, now on 72.5 from 106 (68%), continue to lead ENS_Linear and RSMP_Simple by two tips.
The all-Tipster average for the round was just 4.7 from 7, which took the all-season figure to 68.1 from 106 (64%).
The Margin Predictors’ mean absolute errors (MAEs) were much lower this week, and covered a range from Bookie_Hcap’s 16.1 points per game to Bookie_9’s 18.7 points per game, with the all-Predictor average coming in at just 17.4 points per game per Predictor.
The Leaderboard saw only a little movement this week, with Bookie_LPSO grabbing 3rd from MoSHPlay_Marg, and Bookie_Hcap climbing three places over Bookie_3, Bookie_9, and MoSSBODS_Marg into 5th.
Log probability scores were all strongly positive this week, but narrowly best for MoSHBODS_Prob, which now fills 3rd place on the ladder..
MoSSBODS_Prob still holds 1st place, and Bookie_LPSO has climbed a spot into 2nd. MoSHPlay_Prob remains in last place.
WAGERING
Another close and fortuitous result for West Coast saw Investors register their best single round return since Round 3, entirely on the back of 3 from 3 Line Fund performance.
After offsetting the Line Fund’s gains with the Head-to-Head Fund’s and Overs/Unders Fund’s losses, the Combined Portfolio rose by 4.3c this week, leaving it up by 13.8c on the season, that from a 26% ROT on an 0.54 turn.
