MoSHPlay_Marg bagged 6 from 9 this week, which was enough to see it grab top spot on the Head-to-Head Tipster’s Leaderboard by one tip ahead of MoSSBODS_Marg. That table is fairly compressed now, though, with just four tips separating 1st from 7th.

The all-Tipster average for the round was 5.4 from 9, dragged down by Home Sweet Home and Consult The Ladder.

All of the Margin Predictors recorded mean absolute errors (MAEs) below 23 points per game, but the best for the round belonged to Bookie_9, whose result was narrowly better than Bookie_LPSO’s and ENS_Linear’s. All three of those Predictors climbed up the Leaderboard, but ENS_Linear did best, climbing all the way to the top.

Bookie_9 did next-best, bouncing back from a worst-in-class MAE last week to claim 2nd spot on the ladder. All three of the MoS brethren were disappointing, which saw them slip into positions 3rd through 5th. That said, they all remain within 4 goals of the lead.

All of the Head-to-Head Probability Predictors except MoSSBODS_Prob returned positive log probability scores this week, with MoSHPlay_Prob again narrowly the best, ahead of the three bookie-based predictors. It still, however, lies 3rd on the Leaderboard, behind the MoS twins. The gap from 1st to last in quite narrow, however.

WAGERS

Round 8 was by far the worst week for Investors, as every bet was ultimately trousered by a bookmaker.

Overall, the decrease in the Combined Portfolio was 4.1c, leaving it with a price of $1.078, this result coming now from a 15.8% ROT on a 0.5 turn of the Portfolio Funds. Let’s hope the regression the mean stops here.
